SINGAPORE – As part of the celebrations of the canonisation of Father Damien, Blessed Sacrament Church is organising a 15-day pilgrimage to Rome, Lourdes, Paris and Louvian.
A total of 40 people signed up for the October pilgrimage within a week of its announcement.

Some of the places they will visit include St. Peter’s Basilica, House of Mary, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the grave of Father Damien, his birthplace and Father Damien House.

Father Remi Liando of Blessed Sacrament Church is the Spiritual Director for the trip.

Ms Grace Tan, who was tasked to organise this trip by Father Albert Renckens, said, “I am looking forward to a spirit-filled pilgrimage and I am praying that everything will turn out well.”

Among those going are Louis Lim, 70, and his wife Catherine.  “I am attending the pilgrimage to honour Father Damien and I hope to share the experience when I return from the trip,” Mr Lim said.
