I AM GLAD that in some parishes, occasionally during the weekend Masses, the priest stresses the social aspects of the faith e.g. car park patience, 'politics' among church leaders, caring for parishioners, attire, etc.
But the church could play a more active role in addressing the social issues in our society - broken marriages, youth problems, unemployment among Catholics, potential gambling problem with the coming integrated resorts, caring for the aged and sick. These are problems existing among Catholics.
Some may say the church has organizations addressing these areas. But are they doing enough?
