Six Canossian nuns celebrated their jubilees with a Mass on Jan 29 at Church of St Stephen. Archbishop Nicholas Chia was the main celebrant.

The nuns are Sr Enrica Perego who celebrated her diamond jubilee, and Srs Marie De Roza, Lily Tan, Janet Wang, Bridget Foo and Winnie Tan who celebrated their golden jubilees.

Sr Enrica, from Italy, has served as in Singapore for 48 years. Sr Bridget is serving in Australia while Sr Winnie, a Malaysian, is serving in Malaysia.

Sr Marie has just returned from mission in Australia and will serve in Singapore along with Srs Lily and Janet.

Meanwhile the Canossians have elected a new provincial. The new appointments which took effect on Feb 2 saw Sr Theresa Seow installed as Provincial Leader, Sr Geraldine Tan as Vicar Provincial and Sr Dorothy Lim as Councillor.

Former provincial Sr Marilyn Lim will now oversee retreat direction, formation and vocation animation. “I strongly believe that the Holy Spirit is still calling young men and women to serve Him in Religious life. They need to be accompanied in the discernment process and it will be my joy and privilege to be journeying with them,” she said.
