New Caritas Singapore chairman George Lim.

Caritas Singapore will enhance its existing services and focus on social mission outreach as well as public education and social response, says its new chairman.

Mr George Lim, former deputy chairman of Caritas, took over the helm of the organisation from Mr Willie Cheng recently,

Mr Lim says that a retreat would be held with board members in February to plot Caritas’ direction for the next three years.

A study on the poor is also expected to be released soon.

On Jan 8, Archbishop Nicholas Chia handed tokens of appreciation to board members who stepped down.

These are Ms Juliana Ng, Ms Diana Quek, Jesuit Fr Colin Tan, Mr Patrick Goh and Mr Benjamin Wong. Incoming board members include Mr Anthony Soo, Mr Stephen Chu, Ms Jane Foo, Ms Angela Lee, Friar John Paul Tan and Mr Thomas Teo.

Board members can serve up to a maximum of six terms, while the chair for the Audit as well as Finance and Investment committees can serve up to a maximum of two terms.
