Parishioners and interested Catholics receive Communion at the new church’s inaugural Mass.

SINGAPORE – Church of Divine Mercy (CDM) welcomed its first Mass-goers on Dec 12 at the 5.30pm Sunset Mass.

Alicia Seva from Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour made her way to CDM to be part of the historical moment as well as to see the new church in Pasir Ris. She said the church ministries, especially the wardens, were “well-organised and well-coordinated”.

Aloysius and Eunice Ng from Church of St. Ignatius found the new church “very lovely, beautiful and well-structured”.

There were a total of about 600 people at CDM’s inaugural Mass. A show of hands at the end of Mass indicated that many were from other parishes in the east district, with others travelling from Yishun and Serangoon.
