I RECALL THE great hospitality and example from Father Desmond Reid when I was a teacher at Singapore American School in 1980-82. I was lucky to work with the catechism class at Church of St. Ignatius and be influenced by Father Desmond and the other Jesuits there, so much so that I eventually entered the Jesuits myself. When I did, I received a warm welcome message all the way from Singapore from Father Desmond and the other Jesuits at Kingsmead. Rest in Peace Father Desmond, and I miss all the folks at St. Ignatius.
