Bishop Wenceslao S. Padilla, CICM, of the Scheut Missionaries, passed away on 25 September 2018 in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) due to heart failure. He was 68.

Bishop Wenceslao S. Padilla was born in Tubao (Philippines) on 28 September 1949. “Wens”, as he was commonly known, joined CICM and made his first profession in 1972. He was ordained a priest in 1976 and sent to Taiwan the following year on his first mission assignment.

At his invitation, over 60 missionaries (from 22 nationalities and 12 religious congregations) have joined the first pioneers. There are now 6 parishes and the number of baptized Catholics is ± 1200.
