Young people praising God at the JY AGAPE EVE event.

It was an evening of music and praise for about 140 young people as they prayed and sang during the JY AGAPE EVE event on Jan 20.

The event, organised by Jesus Youth Singapore, was held at the Agape Village. It aimed to bring God’s love to young people as a band led them into a time of prayer with Christian songs ranging from pop to rock.

The audience was also invited to dance to some songs.

Mr Gerard Francisco of SACCRE (Singapore Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal), gave a 15-minute talk on God’s love, sharing how his life changed when he encountered the Holy Spirit.

Quoting John 3:16-17, Mr Francisco shared that God came to save us, heal us and restore us to His love regardless of the struggles and situations we face.

A band helped people enter into a time of prayer.

This musical event was the first among a series planned for 2018. The next concert is scheduled for July 7, according to the organisers.

The Jesus Youth movement started as a Catholic lay movement in India in 1985 and has since spread to more than 30 countries. It has been active in Singapore for the past 16 years.
