Germans.jpgSINGAPORE - The German-speaking Catholic Mission of Singapore held a convention for German priests and pastoral assistants working for the overseas German-speaking Catholics in Asia and Australia from Apr 24 to 28.

The convention was held at Archbishop Nicholas Chia's residence. Lectures were given by speakers that included Dr Chua Chew Yong, the first commercial Singaporean representative in Germany and present business consulter between Europe and Asia; Dr Tim Philippi, the founder and business manager of the German-Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Brother Michael Broughton, FSC.

Archbishop Chia spoke about the Catholic Church in Singapore. Some other topics discussed revolved around inter-religious dialogue, the history and development of Singapore.
