1. Fr Benedict Chng has been appointed as Assistant Priest to the Church of St Francis Xavier for a term of three [3] years with effect from the first Sunday of Lent 2016 (14 February 2016).

  2. Mr Andre Ahchak has been appointed as the Director of Communications at the Archdiocesan Communications Office with effect from 1 December 2015. In his role, Andre will assist the Archbishop in the areas of Media and Public Affairs, Communications Strategy and Policies, Alignment and Integration of Archdiocesan Communications, and Media Training.
  3. Mr Francis Lee Seng Wee has been appointed a member of the Archdiocesan Land and Properties Singapore (ALPS) for a term of two [2] years with effect from 1 January 2016.

  4. Fr John Joseph Fenelon who was appointed member of Clarity Singapore Limited in August 2015 is appointed Director of the same entity for a term of two [2] years with effect from 1 January 2016.


St Francis Xavier Major Seminary
St Francis Xavier Major Seminary has moved to its temporary accommodations at the Church of St Teresa, 510 Kampong Bahru Road with effect from 1 December 2015. This present location serves as a temporary arrangement pending an eventual move to a permanent location. This present arrangement is expected to be for at least two years.

Sacrament of Marriage and Confirmation
Couples preparing for marriage and officiating clerics are to note that can. 1065 §1 recommends that the Sacrament of Confirmation be received before marriage “if this can be done without grave inconvenience”. While the emphasis is for a fruitful preparation of a Christian marriage, lack of reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is not a canonical impediment. The Sacrament of Confirmation should be attended to by all adult baptized Catholics and proper catechesis and disposition should accompany this preparation for the sacrament.
