About 700 people, including Carmelite Sisters from Singapore and Myanmar, attended a St Teresa of Avila Prayer Concert on Oct 3 at the Catholic Junior College Performing Arts Centre.

The concert, titled “I was born for you”, was organised by the Carmelite Sisters of Singapore, and commemorated the fifth centenary of the birth of St Teresa of Avila.

Fr Thomas Lim, Carmelite Delegate Provincial of Singapore, opened the concert with a prayer and welcome messgage.

The concert, which was performed in Chinese, included songs, acts, and prayers on the life of St Teresa of Avila.

Carmelite Frs Anselm Phang and Edward Lim were among the 122-strong cast of performers.

The Infant Jesus choir from Blessed Sacrament Church also performed in the celebration.
