SINGAPORE – About 40 students from the Trinity Theological College (TTC) visited the Church of the Risen Christ on July 20 Sunday morning.

TTC is governed by the Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran and Presbyterian Churches and aims to train pastors, missionaries, Church workers and theological educators.

According to Rev Dr Simon Chan, who led the visit together with Rev Yap Seok Chin, the visit was “to give our students an opportunity to visit the various churches and understand and study the different Christian denominations in Singapore”.

The visitors were divided into two groups, with the Mandarin-speaking group attending the 8.15 am Mass and the English-speaking group attending the 11.30 am Mass.

Each group then proceeded to attend a dialogue session with priests from the parish – Frs John Sim, Joseph Zhang and Kamelus Kamus – together with various heads of parish ministries.

The dialogue sessions were lively and many questions were asked about the Catholic faith.

These  included the order of the Mass, and the theological significance of various symbols, prayers and actions.

The July 20 visit was the second time that the Church of the Risen Christ has hosted TTC students and lecturers.

The first such visit took place in 2011.
